The Contemporary Function and Value of Overseas Chinese Education

In order to promote the high quality development of research and Chinese language education among overseas Chinese in Europe, show the function and value of overseas Chinese education,and explore the development trends of overseas Chinese education in Europe with the help of new technology in the new situation of the new era, Wenzhou University plans to hold an international  conference on “the Contemporary Function and Value of overseas Chinese Education”from July 1st to 3rd. 

The conference will be a combination of online and offline. Scholars from home and abroad and principals of overseas Chinese schools are cordially invited to the conference.

VI. Paper Requirements

Language: Chinese or English.

Interested participants are required to submit an abstract of about 500 words and a brief introduction of about 150 words, indicating their name, nationality, organization in which one works, mailing address, postal code, phone number and email address.

Submission: Interested participants should send the unpublished abstract or electronic version of the paper as attachment to hqxy@wzu.edu.cn, or scan the QR code to register and submit (see below).

Email subject (in Chinese or English): Name + abstract/full paper.

Email attachment: Name + paper title.

 

VII. Conference Format

The conference is tentatively planned to host 200 participants. The conference committee will organize anonymous peer review of the submitted abstracts or full papers by renowned scholars at home and abroad, and issue invitations to the selected participants.

The conference will be held both offline and online. For more information, please follow the official account of "Overseas Chinese College, Wenzhou University" on WeChat.

Each speaker will have 15 minutes to deliver their presentation.

Several high-quality papers will be selected from the submitted papers and recommended for publication in the academic journal Overseas Chinese Studies.

 

VIII. Important Dates

Deadline for abstract submission: April 1, 2023.

Notification of acceptance: April 15, 2023.

Deadline for full paper submission: June 20, 2023.

 

IX. Conference Fees, Accommodation, and Transportation

No conference fees will be charged.

The organizer will provide working lunches during the on-the-spot conference.

Participants will be responsible for their own transportation and accommodation expenses.

The organizer will arrange a visit to the hometown of overseas Chinese during the conference.

The organizer will provide information on recommended hotels in June.
