On April 19th the 2023 Recruitment Fair for International Students of Wenzhou University was held at the College of International Education. Over 100 international students from more than 30 countries including Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Russia, Portugal participated in the event. 17 companies and other institutions, including Zhejiang Sorbo Technology Co., Ltd., Denggao Electric Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Jingsheng Mechanical & Electrical Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Meishuo Electric Technology Co., Ltd., and Wencheng County Yueyang Kindergarten, provided over 50 employment positions such as mechanical engineers, product salesmen, and customer managers.

At the beginning of the job fair, Song Zhanmei, Dean of the College of International Education, warmly welcomed the enterprises and students, and introduced the current situation and achievements of the college. ADOFO MICHAEL ADJEI, a Class 2019 graduate, passionately reviewed his study at Wenzhou University and the work in Wenzhou. He said, “I hope that the young students can stick to their own direction, study hard, learn Chinese well, know more Chinese culture, and integrate into the local community. This can help you have a better understanding of China. I hope all of you will find the job you want after graduation.” ADOFO came from Ghana and completed his study in computer science and technology at Wenzhou University in 2019. He now works at Denggao Electric Co., Ltd. In the event, each company gave a presentation on their overview, development prospects, and job requirements.

In the recruitment booths, international students and potential employers chatted with each other. Students filled out application forms, and company staff introduced their companies, job positions, salary and benefits, and career development. Students from lower grades also joined the event to prepare for their future job-seeking after graduation.

In recent years, with the improvement of international education at Wenzhou University, the number of graduates also increased year by year. The International Student Recruitment Fair aims to promote the employment and entrepreneurship of international students in China, and meet the growing demand of employers for international talents. A teacher surnamed Fang from the College of International College said that the influence of this job fair among international students continued to grow, and it had become a large-scale and highly influential professional job fair organized by the college for international students in China. She said that it had also become an important channel for enterprises in Wenzhou to recruit international talents, supporting more Chinese enterprises to “go global”.
