The University-Community cooperation ceremony between Publicity Department of Wenzhou Ouhai District Committee and the School of Foreign Languages of Wenzhou University was held recently and the First “University-Community” Overseas Communication Center-Ou?Hi was successfully unveiled.

      Recently Ouhai District has created a range of unique cultural brands including Daluo Mountain Culture, Thousand-year Paper Mountain Culture, Tanghe River Culture, Qijun Culture and “Green” Culture whilst adding more national-level golden business cards by building Chinese Dragon Boat Culture, Chinese Couplets Cultural Zone and Chinese Fable Literature Hall. Meanwhile, as one of the four top technology carriers in Zhejiang Province and the front line of Round Daluo Mountain Science and Innovation Corridor, Ouhai District owns the only University Town in Wenzhou City. Amongst all 11 higher education institutions, nine of them are based in Ouhai.

      Thanks for its water and mountain cultural resources and higher education providers, Ouhai District has been actively involved in implementing cooperation between universities and communities as well as overseas promotions. Currently there are over 120 international students studying at Wenzhou University. By taking advantage of its specialty in foreign languages, School of Foreign Languages of Wenzhou University has been working together with foreign cultural and educational experts and international students in establishing its overseas communication team in 2021. This time they are working hand in hand again on creating the Ou ? Hi International Communication Center, which aims to deepen cooperation, achieve resource sharing between universities and communities, and complement each other in promoting Ouhai cultures and urban development, as well as improve the image of Wenzhou City.

      From this year, the Publicity Department of Ouhai District Committee and the School of Foreign Languages of Wenzhou University have already organized four overseas communication events. Over ten overseas communication workers dedicate themselves to the construction of a civilized Wenzhou City, transport guidance, and social services. They have also made their presences at the Waxberry Market in Chashan Town and Qingdeng Market, contributing to the promotion of Wenzhou City.

      Since the establishment of Ou ? Hi International Communication Center, both parties will work together with the overseas communication workers from Wenzhou University to fully develop Ouhai’s science and education resources as well as water, mountain and cultural resources, and conduct a range of international cultural communication activities including carrying out volunteer work, conducting cultural exchanges, promoting customs and tradition experience without schedule, and enhancing science inspection. In the meantime, they will also take part in a number of short video shooting activities and tell stories about Wenzhou and speak up for Wenzhou on various overseas platforms.
