Grass and trees come back to life, the warm wind of spring awakens the flowers, calligraphy, paintings and artworks fill the art center with beautiful fragrance; at the time of the 112th International Women’s Day and the 99th Women’s Day in China, the “Simply Thriving-2022 Wenzhou Female Artists’ Art Exhibition” sponsored by Wenzhou Artists Association, College of Fine Arts and Design of Wenzhou University, and Wenzhou Cultural Center and organized by Female Artists’ Working Commission of Wenzhou Artists Association and Institute of Fine Arts Creation of Wenzhou University grandly opens.

On 5 March afternoon on-site at Wenzhou Cultural Center, Party Secretary of Wenzhou University Shuhua Xie, Deputy Minister of Wenzhou Municipal Propaganda Department Wei Zeng, Secretary of Leading Party Members' Group of Literature Federation of Wenzhou City Xinbo Zhou, member of Party Committee of Wenzhou University and Minister of Propaganda Department Yuju Pan, member of the Leading Party Members' Group and Deputy Director of Culture, Radio and Tourism Bureau of Wenzhou City Mr. Shenggao Liu, and member of Leading Party Group and Vice President of Literature Federation of Wenzhou City Zikang Xie jointly pressed the Start Ball and unveiled the opening ceremony for the “Simply Thriving-2022 Wenzhou Female Artists’ Art Exhibition.

At the opening ceremony, member of Party Committee and Minister of Propaganda Department Yuju Pan and Vice President of Zhejiang Artists Association and President of Wenzhou Artists  Association Mr. Chengbi Zhang addressed at the ceremony and extended their warm congratulations to the female artists whose works have been selected for the exhibition.

This exhibition is kindly sponsored by Wenzhou Fendi Fashion Co., Ltd. and Wenzhou Fangchi International Trade Co., Ltd.. General Secretary of Wenzhou Female Artists Commission Yiru Lin and female artist representative Jingjing Jin expressed their gratitude by donating the paintings to the President of Fendi Fashion Ms. Yidan Feng and President of Fangchi International Trade Lili Feng. Teachers and students from Wenzhou University and numerous female artists also donated their works to the exhibition.

This exhibition themes on “Simply Thriving”. After six months’ preparation, it has received nearly 400 pieces of artworks and 127 of them have been selected and 18 artworks are also specially invited to the exhibition. The selected artworks cover a whole range of different subjects and styles including Chinese paintings, oil paintings, printmaking, watercolor paintings, pastels, illustrations and lacquer paintings. These artworks showcase and promote the colorful creations and academic research of female artists in Wenzhou and highlight their passionate love of life and enthusiastic pursuit of art.

The College of Fine Arts and Design of Wenzhou University enjoys profound cultural diversity. Shuzhong Lin and Bomin Wang, two of the four doctoral supervisors in Chinese fine arts, as well as Hongliang Li, Heng Zhu, Naida Yu have all worked at Wenzhou University and trained a large number of art talents, which greatly promoted the development of art industry in Wenzhou. In recent years, the college has made outstanding achievements in training art talents, art creations, and diversifying local cultures. Many art works by the teachers and students in the College of Fine Arts and Design of Wenzhou University have been selected to the female artists’ art exhibition, which fully displays the strengths and success achieved by Wenzhou University in art creation, research and education. This is also one of the achievements made by the college in reaching out of the campus to connect to local culture and in attempting to lead the development of local cultures. Wenzhou University will take the opportunity of the exhibition to closely work with cultural department in Wenzhou City and take initiative in working with cultural industries in order to take advantage of its intelligence to contribute to the improvement and development of cultural capacities in Wenzhou City.

The Female Artists’ Art Exhibition is held at Wenzhou Cultural Center from 5th to 20th of March 2022.
