On July 4, 2020, 6 members of Wenzhou University Volunteer Organization, led by the instructor Zhang Weibing, went to Puping Primary School and Juxi Primary School in Cangnan County for a two-day science promotion activity.

In order to ensure the feasibility, fun and safety of the activities, the team made sufficient preliminary preparations. Especially, Mr. Zhang Weibing designed a variety of chemical experiment schemes. Having assigned experimental tasks, prepared experimental materials, and tested instruments, the team members conducted many pre-experiments.

The children did interesting and safe chemical experiments by themselves. The team members helped them learn some basic chemistry knowledge in a relaxed environment. Indeed, it was a huge opportunity for children in rural areas where experimental equipment and scientific and technological resources were scarce to enter the door of chemistry.

Zhang Weibing gave a lecture on the theme of "Science by Your Side, Chemistry by Your Side" in the school laboratory. The combination of chemistry knowledge and interesting phenomena in life made the students enthusiastic about this discipline. The presentation was spiced with demonstration experiments. When a team member successfully completed the experiment, the children were amazed by the magical chemical phenomenon.

Time in Cangnan were fulfilling and enjoyable. The volunteers of our university worked hard to pursue a bigger goal with their own tiny strength: to add chemistry to life, and let scientific knowledge reach everyone without restriction.
